I Think of a Number Word Problems

This week for homework in Blake's Boatshed {Room 21} we had to figure out some 'I think of a number word problems' for problem solving. Here are some that I did for you to figure out.

Tip: A good way to figure it out is to do it backwards. Since you are doing it backwards if it said to subtract 3 instead you would add 3.

1. I think of a number. Then multiply it by 4 and subtract 2. My answer is 198. What was my number?

2. I think of a number. I add 54 and subtract 3. Then I multiply it by 3. My answer is 180. What was my number?

3. I think of a number. I multiply it by 2. Then I subtract 4. My answer is 174. What was my number?

Feel free to comment on what you think the numbers were.
